UAE National Agenda

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched a seven-year UAE National Agenda leading to the UAE Vision 2021 which coincides with the UAE's 50th National Day.

Vision of UAE National Agenda:

  • The Vision aims to make the UAE among the best countries in the world by the Golden Jubilee of the Union in 2021.

Pillars of UAE National Agenda:

  1. Cohesive Society And Preserved Identity

    • The National Agenda aims for the UAE to be the best in the world in the Human Development and to be the happiest of all nations.

    • UAE National Agenda promotes UAE's unique culture, heritage and traditions and reinforces social and family cohesion.

  2. Safe Public And Fair Judiciary

    • National Agenda aims to make the UAE's judicial system among the most efficient in the world.

  3. Competitive Knowledge Economy

    • National Agenda aims to make the country a major player at the international level.

    • Making the UAE the economic, tourism and commercial capital.

  4. World-Class Healthcare

    • UAE becoming among the best countries in the world in terms of quality of healthcare.

    • Agenda aims to reduce the prevalence of smoking.

    • Increase the healthcare system's readiness to deal with epidemics and health risks.

  5. Sustainable Environment And Infrastructure

    • National Agenda focuses on improving the quality of air, preserving water resources, increasing the contribution of clean energy and implementing green growth plans.

  6. First-Rate Education System

    • The National Agenda aims to equip all schools, universities and students with Smart systems and devices as a basis for all teaching methods, projects and research.

    • the National Agenda aims to enable the UAE students rank among the best in the world in reading, mathematics and science exams( PISA, TIMSS, EPIRLS, PIRLS), and to have a strong knowledge of the Arabic language.

    • One benchmark assessment in Mathematics, Science and English (IBT)

      One benchmark assessment in Mathematics, Science and English is mandatory for all schools to get their students appeared and PEA has chosen ACER IBT for its students (grade 4 to 8) to be assessed on international standard every year.

    • Target 2021:  Among the top 15 countries
  3. PIRLS/ePIRLS (Progress in International Reading and Literacy Study )
    •  Every five years
    •  Year 4 and Year 8
    •  2011 – 2016 – 2021
  4. Upper Secondary Graduation Rate of National Students
    • UAE’s Current Rate of graduation Emirati Students:  86.16% (2014)
    • Target 2021: Rate of graduation Emirati Students:  90%

    • UAE’s Current Enrollment  Rate of Preschool Students:  87.95% (2014)
    • Target 2021: Enrollment Rate of Preschool Students :       95%

  3. Percentage of Schools with high quality teachers

  5. Enrollment Rate in Foundation Year in universities after completing high school.
    • (A program usually focusing on strengthening Arabic, English, Math and IT) out of the total students enrolled in the universities in the same year.
