MORNING ASSEMBLY

RATIONALE

Pakistan Education Academy is committed to developing skills of citizenship, leadership and team work Morning Assemblies provide an opportunity to share community values and success. On the basis of these values, the assembly programmes:

  • Develop an understanding of our own character ,strengths and weakness
  • Develop self-evaluation and self-discipline
  • Clarify the meaning and purpose of life.
  • Encourage students to strive throughout life for knowledge ,wisdom and understanding

PRINCIPLES OF ASSEMBLIES:

  • All students need to be neat and clean to attend the assembly in proper manner.
  • Not to create disturbance during the assembly.
  • Follow the instructions given by the Teachers/Prefects.
  • Fighting and ill-mannered activities are not allowed.
  • Ensure safety of yourself and others while playing.
  • In case of any problem during activity, refer to the PTI / Staff on duty.

CORE VALUES & SPECIAL ASSEMBLIES

Assembly time is utilized to discuss with students the core values as stated in the school mission statement and also the general good values a Muslim and /or ethical person is expected to practice.These include honesty, tolerance, courage, justice, modesty, compassion, charity, kindness and respect.“Special Assemblies” are held, throughout the year,for example National Day of UEA. These include manners in the Mosque ,significance of Salah, Hijab(for girls),welcoming Ramadan, themes of local and cultural environment, the celebration of achievements in the previous term ceremony for awarding certificates, trophies to individuals and school houses.

GENERAL OUTLINE OF ASSEMBLY PROGRAM

  • Recitation from the Holy Quran along with Translation
  • Class presentation
  • Section Head’s / Principal’s address (Announcements instructions ,discussion regarding the theme/significance of the day)
  • Dua with translation
  • National Anthems of the UAE and Pakistan

MONITORING /ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The theme for the assembly is planned by the Event Manager/I/C Morning Assembly under the guidance of their Section Head.
  • Class teachers and subject teachers guide the students, in planning their presentations, as and when required.
  • Quality and relevance of presentations are monitored by the Section Head.
